6/25/21 - This is a Nazi Mauser K98 rifle from 1944. It has nearly all matching numbers, including the bands, receiver, barrel, trigger group and bolt handle. Other portions of the bolt are numbered '8618' instead of the '6618' that is the serial number of the rifle. Our best guess is those parts were renumbered but whoever did it wasn't careful and used the wrong first digit. The bluing is original and in great shape overall, with just standard high edge wear. Buttplate does have patina throughout though. Minty bore, hardly looks used. Fairly sharp waffenamts on stock.
